Fruits of Your Leisure 2009-2010

This year’s project supports the work of The Night Ministry, a Chicago-based organization who serves the poor and homeless. The Night Ministry provides basic needs to the vulnerable youths and adults on the streets, including: shelter, self-care supplies, free healthcare, referral services, and most especially, supportive companionship. They are an organization who practices the "ministry of presence" to their clients.

Expanding on the theme of Frosty the Snowman's magic hat, TOKOS, Inc. distributed snowman kits in December 2009 and pledged to donate a meal to The Night Ministry for every snowman built. The hat is magic because it allows the "snowman" to feed the hungry, but real are the opportunities to be together, to play and to serve.

Participants inspired to do or learn more are referred to The Night Ministry’s community education program and to the carefully chosen websites about family service and charitable activities.
